Hedgerider Farm helps artists create a meaningful connection to the materials used to make their work. The farm grows specialty plants chosen for their ability to thrive in the local ecosystem and produce characteristics ideal for their artistic applications.

The farm uses techniques that work in harmony with nature to produce quality material without the use of chemical inputs.

We are currently producing 36 varieties of willow for basketry, living structures, floral arrangements, and drawing charcoal.

The farm is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in a place no longer on the map, Smoketown, Maryland. Maren Miller and Joe Kendall run the farm.
